‘Animal’ to attend Sarajevo Film Festival

The 23rd edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival has scheduled to screen Iranian short film ‘Animal’ co-directed by Bahram and Bahman Ark.

Continuing its international run, ‘Animal’ is scheduled to be the only representative of Iranian cinema in the festival’s short film section.

The 15-minute film is about a man who wants to pass the border unlawfully; so he hunts a ram and decides to escape disguised as the animal.

Ark brothers’ film had previously won the second prize in the Cinéfondation category at the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The Sarajevo Film Festival was initiated by Obala Art Center towards the end of the four-year siege of Sarajevo, in 1995, with the aim of helping to reconstruct civil society and retain the cosmopolitan spirit of the city.

The event is the leading film festival in the region, recognized by both film professionals and the wider audience.

The Sarajevo Film Festival is an international event with a special focus on the region of South-East Europe, shining an international spotlight on films, talent and future projects from the region.

The 23rd edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival will be held on August 11-18, 2017 in the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
